Triple the talent, Triple the fun Groove trio aka “Groov3” the funkiest sound to hit Durban has taken center stage in it quest for delivering quality music. Formed and forged by a long friendship of three friends who played music with great passion, with long careers in different streams, the inevitable was to happen. Brandon Poonen who works most of the electronics and software tech but also the bands MD, brings a remarkable punch and feel with His groovy bass lines and attacking yet flowing feel for the music. Aaron Naidoo who also is better known as the chord dictionary within the group handles the electric guitar and is years ahead of his time in terms of playing and feel. No band is complete without a solid drummer, Matthew David behind the kit really sets the pace with a locked in pocket and relaxed touch making it all come together for the musicians to play along with a sequencer!

Yes ! You heard it right … the music industry in general has changed and this has lead to new developments especially within the electronics department. The band though only a trio of musicians are able to make their own tracks including instruments that are not live. This proves to be tedious work for them as they put together beats and chords along with arrangements for solos or vamps all the while recording their own work over the tracks.

Being a cover band has been a very endearing and humbling journey. The three set out to play and have met people who have celebrated birthdays both young and old as well as new beginnings and even for some the marking of a journey well taken… for us as much as it’s about the music… I would like to think it’s about how the music we played made them feel on that day.

Being God fearing musicians our talent was always nurtured and well schooled within church, and for this we can only Thank Jesus Our Lord and Savior for all that He has already given to us so freely, we are grateful for these gifts and even more blessed to share them with you.
